Abortion

So, this will probably be one of the few serious things I'll write on this blog.
I was checking the website of CNN, to read some news. There was an article about how in the United States 48% of women who had an abortion, didn't have one for the 1st time. So the conclusion was that women who had an abortion should be better informed about how to prevent unwanted pregnancies in the future.
Then it said that globally 46 million women a year have an abortion.
Oh my God! That's sooo many. Can you imagine all the baby's that have not been born?
And, this might sound bad, how the world would be even more overpopulated if all these children were born.
Then it said that the highest abortion rates are in Romania, Cuba and Vietnam, and the lowest are in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and Switzerland.
So, that kind of makes me wonder if abortion rates would be higher if it was illegal here, or if they would be even lower.
It's probably our wealth that keeps the abortion rate low.
Weird, because there are actually women who have an abortion because it stands in the way of their career.
Actually, I don't know what to do with this information. Just thought it was interesting...

Lotto Weekend Miljonairs

I just got a call from this tv show called Lotto Weekend Miljonairs. I've been wanting to be on this show for forever! It's this quiz show where you can make a lot of money. I really like it. In the beginning you get easy questions, and the further you go, the harder they get and the more money you can win. Usually I'm pretty good at it.
I called them to sign up to be in the show, and now they called me back to ask me some questions and to do a little test. But I think I kind of screwed up. I only got 3 questions right, I think.

These were the questions:
-Which actor has been playing Sinterklaas on tv since 1986? Answer: I don't know.
-What fruit is used to make guacamole? Answer: avocado
-What's the name of the area of Europe that consists of Spain and Portugal? Answer: Iberian Peninsula
-Who is the "lijsttrekker" of the Christen Unie for the 2006 elections? Answer: Rouwvoet. That's right, right?
-What's the name of the German Chancellor? Answer: Schroder, but I knew that was the previous one
-How many mobile phone connections are there in the Netherlands? Answer: 10 million.
I looked it up later, it's 16,9 million.

Then they asked me why I wanted to be on the show, and one of the things I said was because I think Robert ten Brink(the host, presenter) is so funny. Wow, intelligent answer.
Then when they asked me about what tv shows I like, and what kind of magazines I read, I said that I like to watch Gilmore Girls, Friends and The O.C., and that I read fashion magazines. They asked me if I ever read the newspaper and I said no.
I think the only way they're gonna ask me is if they want someone stupid on the show...
